Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare, that has been going on lately here in Alaska.  The enemy is launching some big attacks on those who are involved in the programs here in Palmer.  It seems like the entire past year has been full of hard things, bad things, and things that I just did not understand. It has not only been our family, but others as well.

A few days ago I was reading my Bible and came across these verses:

1 Peter 4:12-19
12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.[a] On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.[b]
17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 Now
“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”[c]
19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

The first line of that really grabbed me, "do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you".  We should not be surprised when these things happen.  The enemy is going to try to stop the good works that God is doing, and that should not surprise us.  It often seems like the closer we get to accomplishing something for God, the stronger the attacks become, and to be honest it seems as if they have been relentless lately.

God spoke to my heart a few days ago and told me to pray.  Not just pray like normal, but put legs on those prayers, and surround this property with prayer.  He impressed upon me that the enemy is so afraid of what God going to do here, he is trying to pull away all of those involved.

If he is that afraid of what is going on here, what does that mean?  It means that God is planning to do something so BIG here that it will touch the entire state of Alaska and beyond.  God is awesome, and still as powerful as ever.  God never lost any of his power, we just stopped expecting great things from Him.

The God we serve today is the SAME God that created the universe!!  He has the Power to change this world again, and He is working on those changes every second.  He is the SAME God that made wonderful promises to us in the Bible.  God promised us so many things, and God always keeps His promises!!

God loves us so much!! He created us, He crafted us, He chose us.  Thinking about that just blows my mind.  The God of the universe chose me, and He loves me, wow!!

God loves us all so much and even though we have been, and good friends of ours are still, facing some very difficult circumstances, God is here.  The enemy wants us to quit, he wants us to give up, he wants us to say that it is just not worth it, BUT it IS worth it!  Living the Love of Christ is so worth it! Living out what the Bible tells us, rather than just reading it, is worth it.  So Friends, I want to ask you all to join with me, and cover this ministry and this particular place in prayer.  I ask that you pray that the spirit of God saturates this place.  Pray that the Holy Spirit is so evident on this property that it drips from the roof tops.  Pray that God would make His presence so strong here that the enemy can not cross the property line because he will just be consumed!!  Pray for strength and wisdom for those of us who are undergoing these spiritual attacks, and pray that we would have the boldness that we need to step out in faith and do what God calls us to do, even when it is not easy.

I believe in the power of prayer, and I know God hears and answers them.  The Bible tells us over and over again to pray, so that is what we are doing and I ask that you join with us.
